I'm a new newbie to the UDS group and just wanting to say Hi and post a few pics of my new college themed smoker. Done my first cook this past weekend with 2 racks of ribs and they were AWESOME!!! Check out my build and give me your thoughts. I have a screw in thermometer on order and should be here by the weekend.
Got lucky on the drum, It was a food grade barrel with apple juice.
Several coats of high heat primer. The barrel is a 22.5" Perfect for the
lid of a 22.5" weber grill.
Several coats of high heat black paint
Here is my final build of my Carolina Gamecock V.D.S. I can't call
this one one and Ugly Drum Smoker cause it has my Gamecock
on it, nothing ugly about them!!! lol
I cut the gamecock out of a thin steel plate and painted it and then
off set it from the drum to give it a neat look.
The ribs were some of the best I have ever cooked!!!!
