Hello everyone
I'm Ken, don't have a smoker yet, but I'm eyeing up a Dyna-glo vertical with the offset fire box. Live in Ft. Wayne IN. I got hooked on smoked foods from some coworkers that have smokers and shared some smoked food at lunch a couple times. I've been reading posts on this forum for mods on the dyna-glo vertical smoker, I'll probably be ordering one from Lowes within the next couple weeks. I can't wait to get it. I feel like a kid on Christmas eve.

Hey Ken:

I have smoking meats for at least 7 or 8 years. The more you do it the more you will love it! make sure to take advantage of the search bar at the top to find recipes or instructions on how to mod something. The dyna-glow isn't a bad smoker to start with. I started with a cheap bullet smoker i bought at Walmart for $35! and made all kinds of mistakes and bad food before i started making things better. and the more you cook the better you will get! So feel free to ask any questions you want use the search and read the reviews and articles on how to's you will find there is more info on this site than a master's course in bbqing..and oh yea there is a course here too! Just make sure to take pictures and share them and people can help you do better or tell you how delicious your food looks!

Happy Smoking,

Very ordinary, GS95. Chicken skin won't crisp up at smoking temps--pop it on a hot grill, oven, or broiler for a few minutes at the end, and you won't have rubber chicken skin anymore. Welcome aboard.
