New to the art of smoking

This will be my first smoker looking at the 270 standard ,, been reading and learning as much as I can ,came across this site and seems I can learn quite a bit here . I am from Md. Wanted to this for a long time and finally time to take the plunge .
If there is anything anyone can tell me about the 270 standard I would appreciate it .

First off welcome to the forum.  I've only heard about 270 smokers, but everything I've heard is good.  You could try putting 270 standard into the search bar (magnifying glass up top of page on right).  Or re-post your question over in the charcoal smoker section of the forum, and see if you don't get a response there.  Good luck with your search.
