What are you using for BBQing on now?
One of the most inexpensive, best to learn on and own for ever outdoor cooking devices in my opinion is the Weber kettle. Very versatile, handles a good amount of food or large turkey's, roasts etc. You can cook direct or indirect, low 'n slow, smoke and/or sear. Also add a rotisserie, pizza oven insert and/or a Cajun Injector mid section to use it like a Weber Smokey Mountain.

I have a chargrill gas grill and a weber charcoal grill. I want to get a smoker. I saw a nice one at home depot. About $179.00

I'm still learning the smoke levels. I charcoal grilled couple of steaks last nite, and boy were they good! Maybe a tab too much cherry wood chips, but man my girlfriend sure did enjoy her dinner! I read this all the time. Someone asks a question, and they get really good answers. I just take notes.
