New to smoking and have a wood question.

How long should it be dried can it be to dry? Like hardwoods that have been dried for furniture building. Appreciate all your input.

Furniture, as in cabinet construction wood is usually dried to 6% to 8% moisture content.

That's a little on the dry side for smoking, but what kind of smoker you are using, and what sizes of wood you're using enter into the situation too. Some soak wood before use too. I would say 15% to 20% is plenty dry for smoking, but that's just my opinion!

I'm no wood-smoking "expert" !!

I use the AMNS & AMNPS nearly all of the time.

A little moisture should be ok, not something that's been sitting around to long and might lose some goodness.
