Hey everyone, My name is Marc and I live in San Antonio TX I am new to smoking but have used charcoal for years.  I received a Master Forge electric smoker for a gift and after 2 uses it quit so I returned it and now I want to replace if with a better unit.  Was wondering what anyone could recommend brand wise to look at that is good quality.  After reading about the Master Forge a lot of people had the same trouble.  Any help would be appreciated.

This site is a great place to do research on what you want in a new smoker.  I love my Camp Chef Smoke Vault...it's propane and suits my needs.  Ask in the forums about the different ones that folks use.  They will be glad to tell you the pros and cons of each one.

Also....sign up for Jeff's E-course.  It's great and you will learn so much from it!  http://www.smoking-meat.com/smoking-basics-ecourse

The Course is great for anyone no matter what your experience level may be!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Welcome aboard, Marc! Glad you joined us. You've found a great place to learn and share info. Lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here who enjoy helping. Good luck with that new rig, whatever you choose to go with.  A lot depends on what type of smoker you're looking for (Gas, electric, charcoal, or stick burner).  Once you decide on type, surf the threads in that section of the forums and you'll find a clearinghouse of information.  And just ask when you need help and you'll get plenty.
