I love BBQ, as we all do.  I was indoctrinated by a my good buddy, a hog farmer that went from pen to plate starting at 0500 and ending with feeding everyone at whatever celebration paid us.  We used a burn barrel  with hickory embers feeding an old oval pig cooker that never moved- we carried it to them, ready to eat.  So I know the work involved and it is truly a labor of love for good fresh farm raised Q.  I cook a bunch of Q a couple of times a year for our Boy Scouts or neighbors who need to raise some funds for health issues, or whatever. I'm ready to step it up and build my own RF smoker to aid in that process and perhaps start the boys college fund.  I would love to hear your experiences and contributions to the thread I started:

Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Welcome aboard Fudd!  We're glad you've joined the SMF family.  Good luck with that RF build project!  Looking forward to watching your progress.  I'm not too handy myself, but I enjoy watching the talents of others who are.

Have fun, and Happy smoking!
