Hello everyone,

My name is Anthony and I'm from Amarillo Texas. Just received a Masterbuilt 40" electric smoker for Christmas. I have never smoked food in my life and figured this was a place to start and get as much information as possible. Momma is already trying to get me to smoke something. Any advice for my first try at smoking?

Welcome aboard Anthony, and congrats on that new MES!  Chicken makes a good maiden smoke...maybe a pork butt?  These are pretty easy cooks and hard to mess them up.

Good luck!  Whatever you decide to try, go to the corresponding forum in the "Smoking Meat (and other things)" section for tips and advice.

Be sure to let us know how it goes!

Hello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.
