new to forum but not to bbqing

    I've been smoking on and off for about 14 years. i sold my brinkmanlast year and i just found a pitts & spitts 1824 that needs some work. main thing is the smoke stack is rusted near the weld and needs to be replaced but not sure what type of pipe i need. thanks

    First off Welcome NY Smoker to SMF. You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.

     IMHO, The best pipe you can use is some Thin wall pipe like they make the exhaust systems for trucks with.

     Check w/ a muffler shop.

    Welcome to the forum, I think eman is right on with the tailpipe suggestion. If you can get the smoker to the muffler shop maybe they would weld it up for a small fee.
