I plan to run a pid because my temp is all over the place can I wire the element around the switch and just use my pid for controlling temp their is somthing going on with the switch I think I would just like to go around it any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks
 
Hi Shane' I built a electric smoker with a PID. I used a relay to power element.

Ok thank you I was just going to buy a plug and play dual prope pid but my heating element has a switch problem so It was wandering if I can do away with the switch beings it will be plugged in to my pid so basically the element will be wide open and I should be abel to control with pid without burning any thing down rite
