Hey everyone my have is Dane, new to the Forums here, but i recently got a Masterbuilt 30in electric smoker. I am from Cleveland, OH. I have seasoned the smoker and made a few things such as pork chops, salmon (fan favorite in my family) and a pork shoulder.

Still getting the hang of things and I have a tendency to overcook most things even on the standard gas grill. I am working on trusting the thermometer to help improve that.

Excited to be here, learn from everyone and get some new recipes!

Welcome aboard, as with most things it takes practice. Ask away with any questions.

Welcome to the forum glad to have you. If you are talking about the thermometer on the door of your smoker it is probably off as most of them are. Get your self a portable with probes for smoker temp and IT of your meat. There are a lot of different brands out there I have a Themoworks smoke and love it very easy to set.

I am using a seperate thermometer. Just have to get used to trusting it and not opening the door to move it to different areas of the meat.
