Hi Guys.

Attached is a basic concept for the smoker I want to build. I am totally new to smoking so I am after some feed back in regards to the design and weather or not it will work

.

Looking good. Id take the fire box as tall as the smoking chamber. Drop a steel plate in the middle and you got an outdoor over and smoker

I think you'll get more reply's if the picture was in the thread instead of having to download it...

Where in Australia are ya. Looks good, I think it will work well. How will you access teh firebox to fill it with wood etc.

Hi.
Im on the Mornington Peninsular in Victoria. The idea with the fire box is to have a cast iron door on it that can be partially closed for smoking and wide open if i want to use it as a fire place.
I placed the smoke gap at the top because I thought it wouldn't work at the bottom.

PS. I would like to be able to cold smoke as well as hot.
