My fellow smokers...

I just got some goodies in the mail yesterday.

I have watched many of Harry Soo's videos on Youtube and found his advice to be clear and concise. So, to be a good internet citizen, I sent him a little love by making a purchase on his site.

I ordered Harry Soos rub three pack. (AP rub, Jailbird chicken rub, and Moolah Beef rub.)

I also got a bottle of his BBQ sauce to round out my order.

I am going to be doing some comparison testing of my different rubs this weekend on some St Louis cut ribs.

I will be sure to post my findings on Monday....

One other item of interest, he included a small recipe book which was nice. I found a Texas chili recipe that I must try in that book. I never made chili quite like that so I am looking forward to trying it out.

Let us know how they turn out! Seems like every commercial rub I have tried lately is so chalk full of salt its barely edible. Would like to find some that's not.

Well JC I have to say in another month it's very likely to be the perfect chili weather..we got the whole rainy days coming on...

I have to agree with that. Judging from the weather here the past few days, we are ready for some chili now. :emoji_sunglasses:

I agree 100%. If the first ingredient in any rub is salt, I tend to put it back on the shelf.

Looking forward to testing these rubs out...

New chili is always a great adventure. Being new to this I've not experimented much so Ill be interested in your thoughts on the rubs. We're headed to Hungry, Germany, Austria and Prague (can't spell Cz...) I wonder how much spice I can bring back? ;-)

Nice. Hope you score some top quality spices.

JC, I am not sure if the rubs he sells and the videos on the website are the same ones he has for his competitions. If so you should definitely be looking forward to it. I got to sample some of his cooking at a competition a number of years back and he had some of the best pulled pork I ever had.
