Aloha all,

I’m building a offset smoker, Dim’s approximately 56”x24” tank with a 24” x 24” square fire box, 6” diameter smoke stack. How tall should I make the smoke stack?

I was also thinking to have the firebox encroach into the cook chamber around 2 to 3 inches and have the throat opening on the top of the firebox instead of the bottom, therefore heat comes from the top similar to the solution scoop baffle. Also planed to drill holes on the bottom section to let some heat into the bottom.
Anyone hear of this design being done? Bad idea?
All thoughts welcome.

Wow, that is one hefty looking build there. Are you that far along and asking questions or is this an example of what you are thinking to build?

I'm not an expert, just curious.

Chef k-dude:,
Yes this is the actual build, getting ready to attach the firebox so I figured before I go ahead with this design better to ask the community for advice.
Very excited almost finished. I’ve been working on this for six months now
