new mixer

got me a new 20lb meat mixer for christmas, looks like some summer sausage is on the way, when you put cheese and jalapeno in the mixer, will it mash it up?

I have never used a mixer like that. I mix my sausage up in a kitchen aide mixer I do 3lbs at a time I mix all spices and cure in (i it calls for cure) get all that mixed up good and then I put chess and my jalopio in and mix till it’s mixed good. I’ve never had a problem with it. I’m thinking of getting a mixer let us know how it works.

yep thats the way i do it also, looking for something a little faster, thats why i bought this mixer, i hope it works

I have a 20 # mixer as well and add cheese in all the time with no issues. Just did 50 pounds of SS, 25 plain and 25 with pepper jack. Never added peppers but cant see any issues with it.

How hard is it to clean up they look like it would be hard to do

I don't think it's that hard. I scrape out as much meat as I can get then just spray everything out with my kitchen sink sprayer, comes out easy.

Cool. Can u mix smaller amounts or is it better to do 20lbs at a time. Some times I just have 5 to 10lbs. And what brand do u have?

I usually only use mine for 20 pound batches, sometimes 10 pounds, but yes you can mix smaller batches. I believe mine is a Weston.

thanks for the info lother1974, seems like you could spray most ot it out with the water hose.then clean

DL, No problems adding either cheese or peppers, I usually mix the meat for a bit and then add cheese etc. Mine washes easy but I have an extra large deep sink down cellar. I have a cabelas 50# mixer and I only use it for 20# + mixes.

i have got to figure how i am going to do it, my recipe calls for 25 pounds of meat, so maybe do half, then the other half. how does a mixer work when its full, or over full, compared to half full. does it matter?
