Just dropin' a line to say hello. I'm Mike from Arizona. Originally from the Chicagoland area. Just starting out with the smoking thing. I imagine I'll have a lot of questions.

Welcome to SMF glad you joined us. You'll find lots of good info here and some great recipes. You may also want to sign up for Jeff's 5 Day Ecourse its free and contains some great info. Questions are welcome and people will try to answer them. Have fun and happy smoking

Welcome aboard!
We are from Iowa, but are going to CHicago in a few weeks for my bday.
Lots of good stuff here, things you won't find anywhere else. Remember when you want to ask "how long do I cook it?" the answer will probably be "not time, but internal temp." If you haven't got one yet, there is a nice digital thermometer at Wal Mart for about$15.00. I see a lot of questions in that catagory.

Welcome, Glad to have you with us. This is the place to learn, lots of good info and helpful friendly Members.

For Those of you New to Smoking, be sure to check out Jeff's 5 Day Smoking Basics eCourse.
Click Here it's "FREE"... 5 Day eCourse

Everyone here enjoys seeing the Qview so be sure to post plenty of pics... Large ones that us old people with bad eyes can see.

When you uploading to Photobucket I always use the Large IMG setting, 640 x 480 it is a nice size...

Welcome to SMF, don't be shy about asking questions, we love to answer them. The friendly folks on here will have you smoking up some awesome Q in no time at all. Someone already mentioned a good thermometer and that temperature not time is the way to go. All good advice. Keep your smoke thin and blue not white and billowing and you will be fine.

Any questions there is always someone around to help.

Hi Chainsaw,
Chicago is a great town....have a happy birthday and stay away from Lower Wacker Drive.....
So I bought an ECB with the temp thing in the hood. So here's my first stupid question...leave the temp thing in the hood and get a digital thermometer? Is this correct? I would think so. Just askin' to clarify.

First off welcome to SMF there. You'll like this place cause there are alot of good people here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Next if you haven't tried the E-course I would highly recommend it. It's free and very informative and it will give you the basics of smoking. the next thing you do is go grab something to smoke and if you have any questions just post them here and we will help you out licky spilt. Then grab your camera and snao some pictures (Qview here) and let us see what your smoking and what your smoking on too. So go get something to smoke.
Welcome To The Addiction.
