I just got this for 50$ off Craigslist yesterday ..1930s GE double door...pretty good condition..very new to this.can you guys please help and send me some links how to gut insides.check insulation and reinsulate if needed..thanks

Has any body kept this piece on?its like a hard plastic.it's around the doors..I got to get screw extractor..some of screws are rusted and broke...the insulation seems flammable

I'm working on one close to that. I got rid of the plastic parts. Take the metal completely out of it. I thought mine was ok but when I fired up the burner there was some stuff under the metal that started smoldering. By roxul insulation to replace what's in there.

Dang..I seen your post.it was already painted..I'm having a hard time taking it apart..screws keep stripping..

No there should be a plate on top remove it and the inner shell should pull out

No. you will take the top out first then the middle comes out and then the bottom. If you have to use a chisel to break the heads off the screws or grind the heads off.

Hey guys did yall grind the ice maker off cause the bolt is in the inside where I can't reach...

Guess you could, but are you not removing the tub to replace the insulation?  I pulled the tub on mine and generally is recommended to replace the insulation.
