just got a new pellet smoker, a Pit Boss Pro Series vertical smoker. Want to smoke things like jurky, ribs, pork shoulders and so on but can’t spend all my day playing around with taking care of stock, chickens and horses. I also backpack a lot and have a freeze dryer for prepping backpacking meals. Looking to smoke a lot of food and see what I can freeze dry for my backpacking/ climbing trips. Need to learn a whole bunch of stuff.

Welcome to SMF. You have come to the right place. There is a lot of knowledge here, and a lot of people eager to help. If you search for info and can’t find it you can always post what questions you have. Someone with experience will be along to give there 2 cents. Thanks for joining and enjoy that new smoker!

"The Huber in your name wouldn't be talking about a Huber banjo, would it?

My Sister in Law is a Luthier and has a shop in the Phoenix, AZ area but I don't know about Banjo's.

Welcome from WI!

Maybe you can share freeze drying adventures with us? I don't know many people who do it for backpacking..and I bet more then a few of us would love to see the horses!

Good Morning and Welcome from a Beautiful Chilly and Sunny Day here in East Texas
