Hello everyone.

I found this site looking for help in smoking meat and could not believe the quality of the people here. Just looking at some of the forums has answered many questions that I have had.

I am an avid fisherman here and have done alot of smoking of fish. I recently have gotten an interest in smoking bacon and other meats. My wife is from Germany and they like to take porkbelly cut real thick, spice and grill on the barby. That is the first time I have had that and it was great. That got me interested in making my own bacon.

I had never heard of buckboard bacon before but after reading about it here I am determined to try it. I am looking forward to trying new meats with all the knowledge that I am getting from here.

I have a Masterbuilt electric smoker that so far has been great.

Oh I know the pork belly you speak of, my aunt is German and that is some good stuff!

There's loads of info on belly bacon and Buckboard Bacon - both wet and dry curing. Canadian Bacon as well. Lots of helpful folks if you get into a bind.

Have fun and good luck
