Thanks red for the nice welcome to the site' I pop in once in a while always out to sea doing what I do best, working in the E.R. we need a pellet smoker on the back 01 level for smoking the steaks, on Saturday's. Red  do u know what can cause a flamout in a pellet grill, before I joined your site, I was briefly on another site trying to learn about different pellet grills, but I guess they don't like new people asking questions unless the grill is what they like to use. That's why I am glad to come across this site people are very happy to help or answer questions, thinking about a yoder ys 640. any thought's on that smoker. thanks  jim aka chewy

Hey Jim. I've never experienced a flame out in my Rec Tec, so it's only a guess, but I suspect it could be caused by fuel starvation...if the auger jams or malfunctions, the fire pot won't get enough pellets to feed the fire. Another cause could be lack of oxygen choking the fire out...have you check your air flow? Just a couple of thoughts for you to think on...

Yeah I really like those Yoders...very solid and well made pits. I thought long and hard about a YS640 before finally choosing Rec Tec...both great rigs, but the RT was a little less money. You'd likely never be sorry for choosing a Yoder.
