Just seems odd that the 6 guys who replied, who use the 3-2-1 method, don't find fault with any other method.

Bad choice of words on my part. Pot roast, though it is one of my favorite meals, was a bit of an unfair metaphor. The 3-2-1 is a tried and true method, and I've used it on spare ribs (albeit, in the oven, I'm new to the smoker world) several times with great results. The beauty of these forums is in the wide range of info provided. The important thing is that Tony gets the info HE needs and settles on a method that works for him and his family.
You're being too sensitive Bear. I have no issue with anyone doing 3-2-1 with it, my only opinion was that would be overdoing of very good and "already" tender meat. Many of those 6 obviously have never tried the other ways. I personally only had smoked it, until a friend told me to slap in on the grill. He was right it came out wonderful, as you can see by the photo. You can throw it in a crock pot for all I care.

That's why when someone asks how I do something, I tell them how I do it. I don't tell them, "Don't do it the way the other guys do it".

I have made Prime Rib ribs on the grill, in the stove, in the crock pot (before I had a smoker), smoked to 137˚, and finally 3-2-1.
3-2-1 is my favorite of all.
137˚ was a close second.
I'm not mad at anyone, I'm just expressing my thoughts about how I think we should answer questions like that.

I think you just took our comments too literally. There was no demanding. More a surprised concern, atleast on my part. And I never said the above. It is obvious they have had prime rib or they wouldn't have posted on this thread. It is easy to see why someone would use 3-2-1, since well, it's a beef rib. Just as some smoke a Tenderloin, it can be done, its just not really needed.

The best way to end this would be for you to tell me you worded that wrong, and you really didn't mean that the guy should "Not Dare to use 3-2-1 on Beef Ribs", and I'll say, I should not have been so sensitive---I should have known you didn't mean what you said.

I'm just going to take it your an English Major or something like that. Bar-b-que is a Regional process and in those regions it varies greatly. No one way is the answer. I travel enough to know this. I know what I meant and would hope others understood what I meant also. I also get on folks on here that put ribs in a crock pot (with cries of Sacrilege, Sacrilege!!) or do Tenderloins on the Smoker, but in no way am I telling them it is wrong to do it that way. (although it may not be the best way in my view

I'm retired now. I only fish on the weekdays and avoid the Holiday madness. Though I may venture out to the Suwannee River tomorrow for a cookout.
