Hey y'all.  My names Don.  I live and work in the NW suburbs of Chicago.  I've been married for almost 4 years now.  My wife and I have a 4 moth old daughter, Hayleigh.  I am a professional towing and recovery operator and was also a professional auto/diesel tech.  So if anyone has any car questions, I'm happy to help!  My wife is a former chef but is now a professional housewife.

I love to fish, hunt, drink beer, have my buddies over for a bonfire, play paintball, go 4 wheeling, and playing with my yellow lab pup.

I tell you all this because I believe we've become strangers in this world.  If we all made a point to get to know one another maybe the world would be a better place.

I'm a 100% novice at smoking.  You could tell me to use treated lumber because it adds flavor and I'd believe you.  I do have an initial question.  I have a Char Griller Duo grill and just got the Side Fire Box for fathers day.  My question is, we really enjoy grilling and using our charcoal grill for grilling. From the looks of everything ive read so far if I decide I want to use my grill for smoking I wont be able to use it for grilling.  Is that the case?

Thanks in advance guys.  Oh and I did see the 5 day ecourse and will be signing up asap.

I don't use a CG Duo, but I don't see why you can't use it as a smoker and keep charcoal grilling on it too.

Thanks Red!  I've been doing some more research and I think I've come up with a plan so I can use it for both.  My wife said maybe we should just go get a CG Outlaw or Deluxe and use it only for smoking.  As tempting as it was......I cant justify spending that much on a brand new hobby.  But at least the fire box is removable so if I ever do get a stand alone charcoal grill I can just add it on.
