Hi folks,

My name is Adam and I'm grilling/smoking in Stafford, VA.  3 years ago I bought a Char-Griller 5050 Duo Gas-and-Charcoal Grill (with the add on smoker box) and havent stopped smoking.  I look for any reason to go outside bright and early and start on a nice 10-15 pound brisket.  Every holiday I smoke a turkey wrapped in bacon.  It has become a requirement in my family.

Recently, I participated in a chili cook-off that was done by a small group (about 20 people).  I wanted to give it a try and i figured i would do what i love doing. Smoked Brisket and putting that into chili.  I was not expecting to win (being my first time) but my chili pulled through.  that only made me want to grill even more.

My current project now is creating my own rub.  I don't know why i haven't done it yet, but when i cook with someone else's rub, it feels like this is not 100% my brisket.  So in my search of creating my own rub, i came across this site and wonder why it took me so long to find you!

I look forward to reading a lot of forums and hopefully meeting up with the Virginia's Smokers Group.

Thanks!
