Hey I'm new to the whole smoking thing, I just recently purchased a Char-Broil Offset smoker/Grill, I have been addicted ever since, if anyone has any tips/tricks. And if anyone knows where I can actually get wood for my smoker in the long island area, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also from long island....

as for wood, you can get some at home depot. I go for the chunks over chips. I believe i've seen Hickory and Mesquite chunks there. Personally i've never seen anyone with apple wood chunks, usually just chips.

Lowes might have some too. Also, just another piece of info, if your looking for Lump charcoal, you can get that at walmart cheap, i believe its called Royal Oak. Have yet to try it, but i've heard its pretty good.
