Hi Everyone,

I am just getting into home smoking and I just finished Aaron Franklin's Masterclass and I have also watched all of his videos from the PBS station KLRU. I am in awe of his capabilities and attention to detail. I see a trip to Austin in my future.

I live just outside of Denver, and one of my other hobbies is building guitars and listening to blues music. I am building a replica of a 1959 Les Paul right now when I am not thinking about BBQ. In my real-life I am an engineer for an aerospace company.

I look forward to learning from everyone here!

Welcome from Oregon, Go Broncos. Born and grew up in Longmont and lived in Loveland for a long time. I just got back from family reunion in WinterPark.
What are you smoking with?

I am trying to find my first smoker, so I don't have a full answer yet. There is a place along the diagonal that sells oak and fruitwoods for smoking, so I think I will be in good shape there.

Heading to dinner in Longmont in five minutes actually. :)

Welcome. I used to go to CO for heavy weapons training trips. The best grass fed buffalo burgers ever.

Last time I was in Denver. Called RUT trips. Realistic Urban Training. Flying through downtown in Little Birds and Blackhawks assaulting abandoned buildings w/ Swat teams playing bad guys.
They always lost.

Well you are at the right web site to learn and figure out what unit will work best for you. I started my journey 15 + years ago and Just got reinvigorated a year ago after finding this sight and built my own smoker.

BTW, I used to work on the diagonal at a little business called IBM.

Welcome to the site, happy to have ya join the fun.

Welcome from Wisconsin. :emoji_cat:

I run a Stump's Baby gravity fed smoker. If you have any questions about the unit, I would be glad to answer.

Happy smoking.

Hello from across the pond in the UK!

Sounds like we're in a similar boat - I'm just starting off myself but have recently finished Aaron Franklin's book and it's fantastic. Very tempted to get the Masterclass too but it's a little pricey for me at the moment.

Looking forward to seeing what you're cooking!
