Well it seems like I cannot stay out of the limelight even for a few hours.

With all due respect, Steve..

Terry is certainly entitled to make his comment, regardless of whether he has been around lately or not.

In fact, I've been around lately and I got the exact same impression as Terry. I guess we both misinterpreted your joke.

Let's see a man tells you due to recent events he needs a break, and you take the opportunity to make light of it? Yep I find that very humorous indeed.

Thanks Terry, I think you hit the nail right on the head.

I typed 2 long paragraphs of what my thoughts were-and what needs said is Ron thank you for your help & friendship-U are a person I wouldn't mind liveing next door to.

Sorry to hear about your leave... stay within smokin' distance.

i like this place a lot and the people for the most part are very helpful.. maybe things here are getting too serious..maybe its time to step back and realize this is a hobby forum to have fun--not a poltical forum or legislative body..let's all remember its a FUN HOBBY that we all share and just love sharing the learning? maybe??? just my take on the scene.....

I don't know you personally like some others here, and I have no clue what is going on to make you want time away, and frankly, it's not my business.

But as far as I'm concerned, you moderators here have done a great job keeping things civil and on target, with a mishmash of fun and play for good measure. Hope things straighten out soon and we can see you back in the capacity of a regular poster if you don't wanna moderate anymore.

Ron, have certainly enjoyed talking to you on chat and reading your posts!! Hope you will be back soon......we can all use a little rest from time to time. Best to ya!!

Ron,

don't ever let anyone get you down..for any reason..life is to short to for that.
get back soon, as SMF is the only place you will be able to get NM lumbre chili pwdr if you want it..Good luck......
learning to dodge the call...Coyote...

ps: the mexicans tell me if ya roll some of that Lumbre up in tabaco paper and smoke it..it will clear yer head right up..lol..

Wow, my time for SMF has been very limited in the recent past and have no clue what is going on here but do understand when a person feels like they need a break. Hope to see you back around the forums again soon Ron50.....

Take a break if you think you need it. Everyone needs a break sooner or later, reguardless of what has happened in the forum or out of the forum. Take the time needed and I will be looking forward to your return.

Take it easy.

I have to say that I totally agree with ya fred. Lifes way to short!

Everyone has things happen that make them think differently or decide that they need some space. I think we all have been there before. Sometimes when we do that we see things in a different light than before.

I came to this site for insight into BBQ and finer ways to smoke foods, I have made dozens of new friends, most who I have never ever shaken their hand or spoke to in person. If they would have an issue or needed help, I probably would offer to help, and even drive to make sure they were taken care of. Thats the kind of folks that hang out here, thats why I stay here, and why I try to contribute. I remember the early days, and how fasinated I was with the pics, recipes and instructions of the members. Now that I am no longer a newbie, and have been inducted with a fine class of OTBS knights, I feel compelled to help others, and maybe they will be as excited and enthused as I was when I first started lurking here in early Nov,07.

The extra coricular stuff that happens between a few mwmbers on this site, or any other site, really needs to be taken care of between the members who have issues, and not the forum as a whole. Too much good stuff going on here to be clouded by personal/personel issues within the ranks, or membership. Its a social type of forum, and as it grows, these things are bound to happen. No one is perfect, and different opinions are like recipes, everyone has their favorite.
I hope that these growing pains quickly become a thing of the past and folks can get back to the true reason we are here BBQ!
