I just did my first brawturst, and I think I did it right, I mean they turned out nice, haven't cooked anything yet, but I was wondering if there is some trick to stuffing the casing. I mean all I did was twist them, I don't know if they needed to be tied or what not, can you let me know if there is any trick?

I'm just a rookie too, but with the smaller sausage I just twist them, the big ones, I tie or use the hog rings to seal up.

generally yes, you should only have to make one or two twist's for the brats.......granted that also depends on type of casing you are using....

I twist for links in the 6 - 10 inch, small diameter (Hog, sheep casings) size, Longer and larger diameter types get tied with cotton butcher's twine.

I am with the beekeeper, for the shorter sausages, hot links, brats, chorizo, etc., I twist. The other longer sausages, are hand tied.
