Need some replacement parts for my MES

How do they work/stay lit?

Does your heating element still work? If so take a look at buying the cold smoke attachment. It generates smoke independent of the main MES unit. You could use it to cold smoke by not turning on the main unit and hot smoke by running both units. Auto feeds the chips so you don’t have to mess with it.

If your heating element still works properly, the cold or slow smoke attachment is good. It's electric and independent of the main smoker. It's hard to get lately, you might look on ebay or Home Depot.
Instead, you could use the AMNPS, that is a tube or tray that sits inside the smoker, you fill with pellets, light it with a torch, once it stays lit (about 10 minutes) it could last 4-6 hours.
Also the mailbox mod, again all of these are good for smoke, but only if your heating element works properly.

Here's a pic of my mailbox mod which has the AMNPS inside using pellets. This idea might be distracting you a little from your possible initial goal. If you do a search on mailbox mod, you will find many posts on the subject

Mailbox mod is attaching a mailbox with a tube through the chip loader port. The mailbox hols an AMNPS tray or tube with pellets in it. Pellets generate the smoke which goes into the smoker via the chip loader port. There's a few methods on this forum. Try typing in MES Mailbox Mod in the search.
