I am looking to possibly upgrade from my old brinkman pittmaster deluxe and am thinking about an Oklahoma joes or an old country from Academy. Any advice about these smokers? I really like my farther in laws Lyfe Tyme but just can't afford one. Please help me decide what to do.

I don't have any direct experience with either of these but when upgrading a stick burner you are basically talking thicker steel. If you go with the same thin metal cooker you have now only a different brand you won't notice any appreciable upgrade in the performance. Another option is Craigslist. Many people buy or build nice stick burners only to get frustrated and give up during the learning curve. You can pick up some nice smokers at a good value that way.

Keep us posted on how it goes.
