Hi everyone, this is my first post. I'm researching pellet smokers and I need a recommendation. I want something robust (not poorly made), with wifi, and under $1000. Any ideas?

A friend from work got a Rec Tec and it checks all those boxes (depending on size). He really loves it but he got the smaller portable one. I know it will go up to 500 degrees also, I have another buddy and his trager only goes up to 350.

I've had a Rec Tec Mini (now the trailblazer) for several years. It has been a solid performer since the day I bought it. Mine doesn't have wifi, but their new ones do. Their customer service is top notch as well. I'm sure Rec Tec isn't the only good pellet pooper out there so I would do a ton of research before you pull the trigger. Good luck, and welcome from Middle TN!

Maybe check out grilla grills. Some owners on here really like. They even have the new alpha which is PID

Rec Tec 590 Stampede is $899 on their web site with WiFi & PID controller. I don't have any personal experience but a friend has one and absolutely loves it. My budget wasn't quite that large is the only reason I don't have one myself. I also have a couple friends with Green Mountain Daniel Boone's, they have WiFi but I don't think (though I could be wrong) they have PID. At any rate both of them are happy with their grills too.

Thanks for the recommendations. A few more details: I like the wifi capabilities of the GMG grills, but I've seen many comments that they don't hold a temperature, and they tend to need frequent repairs. I like the Grilla grills, but they don't have wifi, and something like a MAK or a Yoder is seriously expensive. Ill check out Rec Tec

I have a Rec Tec RT 590 Stampede. For it's $899.00 price point, it's tough to beat and it checks all of the boxes that you say that you want checked.

It's stainless steel construction, strong fire pot, and ceramic ignitor make it reliable and robust. It's PID controller is so popular, and nails temps so dead on, that there have even been people who have grills made by other manufacturers installing Rec Tec's PID controllers in them. Rec Tec's customer service is second to none.
