need advice on amazen smoker tube

Ok i have a Smoke Hollow gas smoker and am going to order the amazen tube smoker from Todd as i have heard this is the only one to use in gas smokers. My question is im thinking of the 12" tube which says provides about 4you hrs of smoke.what if i only wanted a couple hours do i olny fill it partially? Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, exactly. Just fill it half way. Are you using it for hot smoking or cold smoking or both? When hot smoking above certain temps the tube will go through the pellets faster. So if hot smoking fill the thing the first time and see how far it burns through and adjust. I really like both of mine and can't believe I messed around for years with homemade contraptions! I have both the 12" and the 18".

Im going to be using for hot smoking, although sometime in the future id love to start doing some cold smoking. Thanks for the info, just didn't know if it had to be totally full to work its magic.
