My original bradley 4 rack smoker is being delivered tomorrow and I am very excited. Over the next few days all the other little things I ordered for the smoker should be here and by next weekend I hope to smoke some ribs. I have absolutely no experience and I am looking foward to learning alot from everyone. I do have a quick question, I see alot of people ise a yellow mustard to put on the ribs before the use there rub. I am allergic to mustard and want to know what else can be used to get the rub to stick to the ribs. Look foward to hearing from all.

Honey works well, really anything with sugar or oil will let it stay stuck, have fun with the new smoker and welcome , you can post pictures here without having to use photo bucket ect so postem up.

I usually don't use anything other than rub. You'll love the Bradley. It will produce some tasty meals. The pucks are a bit pricey. Amazon usually has them for a decent price. Good luck.

Welcome from Central Texas. You honestly don't need to put anything on the ribs. The rub or spices will stick just fine. I used mustard the first couple times I did ribs then read something here saying you don't need it. Well, that was 10 years or more ago and I've not put anything on the ribs since. Just rinse with cold water to get rid of the vac seal slime, season, and put on the smoker. That's it.

Robert right, you don't really need anything to make rub stick, but I like to do it anyway because that's what Aaron Franklin does! If you like you can use olive oil, honey, maple syrup, BBQ sauce, or plain water. RAY

Have never used mustard. It can be expensive anyway if you're doing a lot of smoking. I've used olive oil or avocado oil for many years with good results.
