Here is my new shack for my smoker to help with smoking in the cold weather. First smoke last week was a boneless pork loin, did a cider vinegar brine, it turned out great . So yesterday i did my first set of ribs. "St Louis Vanilla brown sugar glaze " 3-2-1. Came out great, This is going to be a lot of fun, trying new things to smoke and playing with different woods and rubs. Thanks to all here with the great posts i have been reading for awhile now. Giving me the info to move forward with my new pleasure. And hopefully not a new waist size, ha ha

Great looking setup you have! Did you build it yourself?
Hi TuckersBarbeque
Yes built it last week , we had a 2 day warm spell, just above freezing, finished it on the inside in a couple days . I will change inside items as i see how it works as time goes on, not where the smoker sits though
I have 5 sheds around the yard for different things, wife says they are going to have an intervention for me to stop building sheds

I was a union carpenter for 34 years, did a lot of finish work in my time. Looks like a fine job there, nice work! RAY
Thanks Ray, I cooked for 20 years , been a carpenter now sense 1987, the shed needs to have the finishing touches but i have to wait until it warms up here . Needs paint and some final trim. Will put metal screening in the open rafters to stop the birds and squirrels

I built the shed on skids so i could move it if i need to for some reason. Also i used an old set-up i had in one of my old work cube trucks. I could pull up to some ones house to work and just plug into their power and i could work in the back of truck. So now i leave plugged into the side of shop, power and lights . Will be adding wire screening to the open rafters to stop small visitors

Very nice set up you have. Good work and attention to detail. I like it! Heck, you could even ring it out on the ice...smoke while you fish!! LOL!!

Thanks i'm loving the shack
Ha Ha , funny you would say that. we are on a lake and we never see any shacks on the lake for fishing, nice Trout in spring and small mouth all summer. Today lots of walkers and snowmobiles . So this summer i can see Trout from water to smoker in 150 short steps

David

ps: would love to get down your way sometime, used to listen to radio station Gumbo, love the music close to our Acadian music etc, and lots of people from here went down your way many many years ago

I want one!!!!! Thats awsome! BTW, Vanilla brown sugar glaze sounds good too. Adding that to my try list.
