A man was waiting for his wife to give birth. The doctor came and informed the dad that his son was born without a torso, arms, or legs. The son was just a head!

But the dad loved his son and raised him as well as he could.

Eighteen years later, the son was old enough for his first drink. The dad took him to a bar, tearfully told him he was proud of him, and ordered the biggest, strongest drink for his boy.

With all the bar patrons looking on curiously, the boy took his first sip of alcohol.

Swoooop! A torso popped out!

The bar was dead silent, then burst into a whoop of joy. The father, shocked, begged his son to drink again.

The patrons chanted, "Take another drink! Take another drink!"

The bartender shook his head in dismay.

Swoooop! Two arms popped out!

The bar went wild. The father, crying and wailing, begged his son to drink again.

The patrons chanted, "Take another drink! Take another drink!"

But the bartender ignored the whole affair.

By this time, the boy was getting tipsy.

With his new hands, he reached down, grabbed the drink, and guzzled the last of it.

Swoooop! Two legs popped out.

The bar was in chaos.

The father wept with joy.

The boy stood up on his new legs. He stumbled to the left. He stumbled to the right. Then he stumbled through the front door and into the street, where a truck ran him over.

The bar fell silent.

The father moaned with grief.

The bartender merely sighed and said, "He should have quit while he was a head."

I hear you Rich, haven't been to a bar in maybe 20-25 years now. I probably wouldn't be happy finding out what a drink goes for these days, I do my drinking at home. RAY

Those are really good Ray. The dog with the beer can brought back memories.

Been longer than that for me . It always ended with tables flipping over and chairs being thrown .
the one and only
Chris , there are a bunch of great " one and only " in animal shelters .
I know it seems like it won't be the same . Took me almost 4 years to find my new best friend . I spend 95% of my time with her .
When you retire , get ya a new buddy .

Thanks Rich, we've talked about it a few times, and someday we may pull the trigger. We've had up to five little buddies at one time. Skid and Sixtoe always seemed to favor me. When Six passed away Skid wouldn't leave my side if I was home. Sixtoe, White-dope, Fat butt, and Stinky were all closing in on ten years old when we adopted Skid(who was still a puppy). They were all someone else's rejects when we took them in, and they all became part of the family. The wife and I are planning on doing some traveling and really don't like putting a buddy in the kennel. We had a really bad experience with a kennel one time. White dope who was a wolf hybrid escaped and a nearby farmer told the kennel owner that he had him lined up in his sights ready to pull the trigger. Thankfully he saw the collar tags first. So like I said. Maybe one day we'll find someone elses reject and make him/her part of our family, but we're just not ready yet.

Chris

A home without a dog is just a house Chris. Once we came to the realization that there would never be a plane ride again due to never wanting Bob to be in the hands of others it really freed things up. Bob goes everywhere with me, if he can't go then I don't need to go either, my life would be empty would him. If he's not snoozing on my lap

He's waiting until the lap opens up for TV

And he spends every night cuddled right up to me

Dogs! Life's far too short to live without a little love, or a dog. RAY

Couldn't agree more Ray. For the better part of my 62 yrs. I've always had a doggie. The house does seem empty, but it's a 24 hour drive to visit my daughter and that is tough on my old bones let alone a pup. Not to mention she has two cats. My son who lives near me can't doggie sit because he has an almost 3 year old son who still likes to play rough.

Maybe soon. We'll see
Chris
