I am happier than a pig in slop.I finally get to use my homemade smokehouse. I made this smokehouse from an old 100% aromatic cedar never used outhouse. I took an old gas grill, stripped it of most of it's parts and made a cedar tabletop.

The propane from the gas grill is piped through the wall of the smokehouse and connected to two burners.

I used the old gas grill as the heat source inside the smokehouse and can still use wood for heat if I wish.

The steel frame inside has two levels, one as a heat shield at the lower level to keep direct heat off of the meat and the upper level is for the two piece stainless steel grill. At the time of this video, I'm using only one of the grills. Both levels are height adjustable.

Below the grill I have pans for drippings and two bread pans for added humidity.

There are at the time of this video two briskets that have been on for 1 1/2 hours going for 8-10 hours.. I will make a second video when the briskets are ready to come off.

Nice setup you got going, smokinjer.  I take it then this is your maiden smoke for this smokehouse?

Please take a moment and swing by Roll Call and introduce yourself to the rest of the SMF family.

Enjoy the Smoke!

Thank you Dutch. Yes it is my maiden voyage with a smokehouse but not new to bbqing and grilling. I did discover today that I have a little sealing to do in order to get a more efficient and maintain a higher temp as well as it will allow my smoke generator to operate more efficiently.

This is not my first time here. There are a lot of good folks here with plenty of creativity and ideas.
