My wife decided she wanted to get a Great Dane - so we are rescuing one. I go tomorrow to pick it up - 6 hrs. round trip.
Anyhow - looking at dog cages for an XXL it was going to be around 100-150....and they just take up a bunch of space.
So I decided to build one in our spare closet in the master bedroom.
Just sketched it out - by no means perfect but it's in a closet.
Will have AC and heat in the winter. Will leave door open when he is in there but it's good to know he will be comfortable.
Put peel and stick tile down and sealed outside edges with sealant so if he does have an accident in his cage it won't seep down into the carpet. Thinking back I should have put a layer of plastic down under the raised floor but oh well.
Total cost around 150. Wife is going to either stain or paint it. I kind of like it the way that it is.
