So this is my second time making these. They turned out 10x better than the first round. All I can say is SO GOOD..

I'm glad you asked.  I am actually using Pear wood.  I found this guy on CL and he has a ton of it, I just had to split the logs and now I have different sizes.  It is a great wood.  It is partially like the other fruits...apple.

Yes, of course.

So I have a size box style.  They took 6 hours.  I did 3-1.5-1 with back ribs.  I bought them at Cost Co as they have a three pack of VERY LARGE ribs.  I also threw on a whole chicken and the smoker actually crusted the chicken, but I still put it in the oven and that really did it.  But the chicken was outstanding.  But yes, if you can find pear, that is the way to go.  (The guy I bought the wood from was asked to cut down a big pear tree and dispose of the wood, and that he did.  It is 1.5 yrs dried.  So good.
