I recently purchased a Blackstone 22" Yesterday I got her seasoned and ready. For its first cook I decided to try something a little different. We like smash burgers. And we also
like Mushroom Swiss burgers. Sooo.

The fixins. 4 half pound burgers, more or less, onions, mushrooms, swiss cheese. I precooked the onions so they would finish faster on the grill. The burgers were seasoned with Lawry's seasoned salt and pepper.

Burgers cooked on one side. Then flipped and smashed with a Lodge bacon press. Shrooms, onion, and cheese getting happy.

On a toasted sour dough bun.

We had batter dipped fries with them. Store bought. Nothing fancy. The burgers were fantastic. The griddle is awesome. I wish I'd have gotten one sooner.

Nice job steve. Burgers look delicious. Glad you finally got the Blackstone. I've seen you post on all the griddle threads counting down to when yours arrived lol. Enjoy it!

Damn Steve!! Didn't take you long to figure that thing out. Those burgers look amazing!! I'd planned to make the same thing last night but when you mentioned doing them I deferred to you in hopes that I'd learn something, which I did. I learned that those are a MUST DO!! Great job my friend!!

Steve...I just had a thought. These griddles are getting pretty darned popular. I didn't take pics of seasoning mine. You however did an amazing job seasoning yours and got some beautiful documentation of the process. I'd ask that you please give some consideration to posting the process you went through so folks can see how it's done.

Oh man that’s an awesome looking burger. I love the mushroom swiss combo on them.

I gotta get these going on the new griddle. I have a feeling I’ll be eating a lot of burgers this summer.

So I just watched the video by Blackstone for seasoning the flat top griddle.

It looks like you want to do this 3-4 times before cooking on it. I've got veg and olive oil in the pantry, is there anything better? Is getting the Blackstone griddle conditioner recommended? RAY

I seasoned mine 4x with the Blackstone oil/conditioner then hit it a 5th time with duck fat.

Ray I used grapeseed oil when I seasoned my camp chef. 5 coats and its slick as hell. Also helps to throw on some fatty bacon for the first cook.

Man those look good. My patties start off as a large meatball, then I smash flat and usually have double cheeseburger. 2x the tasty crust. Does not take long to cook those thin patties. I need a cheeseburger BAD!

Steve, looks good homie. Did you try the Glop Sauce yet? The more I put that Kraft Sandwich Spread on my food, the more I thought of how similar it is to Tartar Sauce.

I've got some oil/conditioner on the way here and will do 4-5 coats Jake. Then I'll cook up a batch of bacon for the initial run like SmokinVOLfan SmokinVOLfan did. It doesn't look like these things come with a cover, I'm thinking I might be able to do something with the box it comes in. RAY
