A part of me dreads uncovering it but the Blackstone does some things so well. Smash burgers tonight.

Pretty straightforward, 1/3 lb balls of 80/20 beef smashed against a hot griddle.

Homemade pickles, red onions, garden lettuce, sliced tomatoes etc. Tossed some boars head mustard on then along with mayo and deluxe american slices. Delicious.

Me ready for battle with the flattop. It's a messy journey.

And for our youngest son, a classic double meat cheese burger with only pickles and cheap yellow mustard.

Try some this weekend!

I could live only on burgers! Looks delicious

Burgers look great!I have a terrible habit of burying my Blackstone under a pile of misc stuff. It gets used less because of that. My new spring cleaning resolution (amongst others) is to clean it off and leave it that way.

Only thing worse is having a hot tub in the garage... talk about a storage table!

try just leaving it on the patio ready to go. I do that but it has a hood and cover. I'd probably never use it if I had to clear it off and drag it out of the shop or garage.

I mostly just hate the hassle of scraping it down, oiling it etc before and after each use. It's sitting out there now waiting for my attention.

Running a little late here, but that looks great. I just made up 24 1/3 cup heaped a little 80/20 balls, freezing them on a cookie sheet in the freezer to put into a gallon zip bag in the morning for pulling out how ever many I need for quick to thaw smash burgers. Made some for tonight's dinner also with frozen steak cut fries. They only fit small regular sized buns, but tasty when stacked with cheese on each patty. I smash out and add onions on top with a little mash early with seasoning to be ready to singe after turning to smash a little again for good contact.

My Blackstone is mostly covered on my deck, has the hard lift off cover that sometimes get some blowing rain but I have never had a problem with water or dust inside. I have a couple years of seasoning on it. I use the hard SS scraper vigorously on it after every cook while it is still hot and then fold a paper towel on the scraper edge to smear what ever oil is left over or add a little to put a very thin new coat on. I prob have 5-6 different kinds of oils/greases burnt into my black seasoning cast iron top that never scrapes off. Ha Ha Never had a rust problem. Thanks for posting.

I use one of those silicone mats to keep me from having to scrape, clean, and oil before use. I clean and oil when done. Once it cools down I toss the matt on then the metal cover.
