MES140G How do you turn on the light?

I recently bought a MES140G to replace my old hand me down MES40. It has served me well, but was pretty weathered when I got it and the heating element went out.
My question is How do you turn on the light on the 140G? Does it only come on when the door opens, I see no light button on the Panel or the Masterbuilt APP? The MES40 had a light button on the panel and remote. This seems like an obvious feature you would want with the Glass front, especially at night, not having to open the door every time to see in. I wish I could use that remote on this new model, is that possible?

After a little smoke, honestly you can't see thru the glass anyhow. Unfamiliar with the light, I have older Model MES 40

There should be soft touch keypad with a light bulb icon on the control panel.

This 140g only has 6 buttons. Power,Bluetooth,temp,time,up, and down. No light.

Okay. The light is supposed to turn on when the door is opened. I'm thinking the switch is sticking or has gone bad.
