Hi,

Quick question. I have a Masterbuilt Electric Mini Smoker. I had no issues adjusting the temperature up until about a week or so. The main issue is that the temperature won’t go above 250. I guess that’s kind of ok because most food requires between 225-250. On the flip side there’s stuff that sometimes requires higher temperatures. Any way to trouble shoot this?

Thanks.

275 is the max on my 40, been a long time since I cked it. what does the owners Manuel say?

I'm not familiar with the Mini, but I've been using a MES 30 for years. Masterbuilt smokers are notorious for their inaccurate thermometers. Your best bet is a digital therm with at least 2 probes. If you don't have one, then check the cook chamber temp with an oven thermometer.

I agree with this completely.

Have no experience with Weber igrill. Just need something that can be tested and verified , ice water, boiling.

Actually is not really call a mini, is the portable one.I don't even think they make that model anymore. Not everyone at the house likes smoke food so that little sucker meets my needs.

I figured what the issue was. Actually it was an operator error on my part. I guess that's what makes me a rookie. I read the manual and it clearly says to run the smoker 15-30 minutes to pre-heat then adjust to desired temperature. Not even 20 minutes and the temperature shoot up to just over 300. It then went down to 275 and stayed there. I guess I can leave with that. I did check the electrical connections and tighten the door to improve the seal.
