Hey all,

I got a MES 30" from a friend for free but it's in kinda rough condition. It doesn't turn on and I'm fairly certain it's the heating element. I'm trying to remove it but I've got to remove the wood chip lid in order to get to that last ground screw and pull it out, but it looks like it's rusted on fairly well and also stripped a bit.

Is it safe to blast it with some rust remover to try to get it to loosen up?
