I put together my MES 140S and I noticed there was a small gasket (at least I think that's what it was) between the top of the smoker and the control panel. There are two cords between the control panel and the smoker. I assume one for the meat probe and one to connect to the heating element.

One of the cords had a gasket around it but it wasn't attached to anything. There were little holes in the sides of the gasket and on the top of the smoker like they are supposed to line up. See attached pic. Am I missing something? Is something supposed to go through the little holes on the gasket and hold it in place?

See attached pic. The gasket in question is the thin metal thing around the cord on the right. You'll see it has a little hole that looks like it is supposed to line up with a hole in the smoker but I don't know what would hold it there.
