Hello yah'll  sure do hate it when the grocery stores mark their Boston Butt up to 3 dollars a pound for a 9lb butt. sure wanted to have some BBQ but went with the chicken thighs again at 5 dollars a pack of 8 good sized thighs. used a different wood this time and think i will use it from now on on my chicken. it gave it a good sweet taste!  had the usual sides of baked beans macaroni salad and deviled eggs. Hope everyone had good Memorial Day!!!

It looks good and I agree about the apple wood with poultry

and I love apple with chicken. Last time I did some I used apple and Jack Daniel's Oak Barrel Chips, now that was some good smoke!

I smoke my eggs before deviling them and the BF won't eat them now unless they are smoked. Takes them to an entirely new flavor level.

Thank Yah'll really preciate the comments. i have for along time always used mesquite for the taste on chicken so i decided to try the apple and was very pleased with the sweet taste and the color like u mentioned did turn out different like a carmal color.

smokinhusker i tried the smoked deviled eggs and the smoke flavor on them bad boys are awesome but guess i left them on a little to long or my heat was to high they got a little tough on me. live n learn right! :)
