Hi to all my grill 'in friends. I am a new kid on the block . I just started to smoke meat this summer and I'm lovin it . I have a barrel grill and been successful so far . There are so many variations to this but it's fun . I am retired from over the road truck driving . I though after 38 years I better retire and get caught up on my honey do list , and get a better grill and start having fun . I only wish I would have started 10 years ago ,I could have a more sophisticated smoker but this does the job .My toughest thing is the heat ,keeping low heat ,but I am learning . My last pork butt was on the smoker for about 10 hours but one time I almost lost my heat and then when I got it back it went up to 300 .I did get it back down to 245 and managed to keep it under 250 for the rest of the cook. It turned out real good .I made pulled pork . My wife thinks this smoking stuff is great LOL. I'm situated in North  eastern  Indiana . Love to watch you tube smoker video's . That's it for now .

Thanks' Mike ,glad to have found you here . Only smoking for a short time I have learned that there are so many variables to everything involved this is a good place to be.
