Haven't made meatloaf in a while, the ribs are going in Jambalaya later in the week with some Cajun Andouille from Wayne Jacobs Smokehouse in Louisiana.

Meater

It was its maiden voyage for the Meater, I closed the door on the Yoder and literally took 2 or 3 steps and the signal was gone.
I had to take my iPad and set it on the Yoder side shelf and use the cloud then it worked great.
I did notice the ambient temp was way off until about 3/4 of the way through the cook when the meat surface had warmed up quite a bit.
In the beginning the smoker was running at 250-255 and the Meater read in the 130's - 140's. I assume that was partially from having to angle the probe so much to get it in to the line and still keep it in the middle of the relatively shallow meatloaf.

Ok there’s a lot going on here....

I don’t know where to start.

You put a bacon weave on top of your meat loaf?!?!? I’m stealing that strategy!

Ribs going in jambalaya later in the week??? I’m upset your mentioning that now and making me wait for them pics!

The pics look great! Nice job!

And nice meater review!

All around great post! Like.

Wow, that’s looks fantastic! That’s the first time I’ve seen the bacon weave on a meatloaf. That’s definitely in my future. I’m sure it is delicious. Those ribs have an awesome color. I’d have a tough time holding out to put them in jambalaya, but I’m sure that will really amp up the jamb. Good job!

If possible, I'd love a bit more clarification on the following sentence:

"I had to take my iPad and set it on the Yoder side shelf and use the cloud then it worked great. "

Specifically the "and use it in the cloud" portion of the sentence. So, I get that signal strength was booty and you had to short step the connected device.

How did you rebroadcast it "in the cloud"? Familiar with the cloud and tech, but is it a simple screen broadcast or....?

You need one wireless device in bluetooth range of your Meater probe , that unit will connect to your home WIFI (Meater Link) and you will be able to see your Meater Probe on any wireless device that you have paired with your Meater probe anywhere on your home WIFI network.
Then assuming you have set up a cloud account and are logged in with your phone you can access your Meater probe from anywhere, along with past cook data ect.
