very new to smoking and wanted to know if it is advisable to use the meat probe on the Mav732 by putting it into a tri tip or brisket when you begin cooking, and leaving it in until the alarm goes off at the proper temp.....does leaving it in from the beginning make it register a higher temp.....thanks

With hole muscle meats like tri-tip, brisket, prime rib, etc you can put a sterilized (clean) probe in at the beginning and leave it until the you hit your IT. Poultry I would wait to put it in.
