I was getting some groceries a couple days ago and was looking for a leg of lamb. WM didn't have any that day but they did have pre-seasoned lamb leg steaks. I was planning on making gyros but now I had the thought of lamb in my brain. I wasn't too sure about pre-marinated meat but too late brain wins.

I also made sure to make enough jalapeno poppers to last a couple days. I changed them up a little bit by mixing in some Kinders Woodfired Garlic seasoning with the cream cheese and cheddar cheese filling. I didn't have to do anything to prep the lamb so I fired up the smoker and let it go.

The poppers turned out way better this way. I will add the Kinders for now on.

I pulled Mary's little buddy out at 140F and it was great. I won't worry about the pre-marinated the next time I crave this.

The plate. I did have a second popper.

Nicely done! Man that looks great! LOVE lamb...sadly my wife does not. Add that to the "cook when she is out of town" list.

Ooo nice and rosy! Beautifully done. Must agree with @Ishi that lamb isn't too high up my list, but it is growing on me, and I'm sure your plate could convince me!

Looks amazing! Is that bacon on top of the poppers? Added to my list of things to try - thanks!
Yes, it's bacon. I had some in the morning and cooked up a few extra strips. I put them in a ziplock bag and crushed them up.

looks pretty good! to do lamb takes a bit of know how. if not it tastes like it smells when raw. like a stockyard barn. lol i have only cooked and had it a couple times. it takes a lot of seasonings and prep for me to like it.

now you got me wondering if i shouldn't revisit this critter in the smoker! i wasnt brining meats way back when i cooked the lambs. im betting a good brine could get that stink out of the meat.

I cooked up a few more since the last post and as of now this is my favorite. There is absolutely no gaminess to the taste of this cut. It is also simple and fast on a pellet smoker.

The packaging.

This is great for the baby pellet smoker. 250F for about 40 minutes.

Cooked to 147F IT. I let it rest for 15 minutes while the Rallys/Checkers fries were in the air fryer (another new favorite).

The plate. Ranch for the fries and Jack Daniels Honey BBQ for the lamb.

For those that are not sure about lamb give this a try and I am sure it will change your mind.
