Marines turned 250 years old yesterday so we invited some other retired Marine families over for a meal, cake cutting ceremony, and to watch the Commandants message. If you haven’t watched his message on you tube I’d recommend it for some motivation. For the meal, I decided start with Jeff’s jcam222 jcam222 tomato soup, it’s always a big hit. If you haven’t tried it I highly recommend it, my kids love it too! https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t...-soup-and-grilled-cheese.313644/#post-2306373

For protein we did S&P rubbed Pichana and Pork loin with S&P. Both rubbed the night before, the loin got a hit of Citrus/Rosemary rub before going on the smoker.

Both went on the Yoder at 275 for somewhere between 45min to an hour, I forget, more focused on the IT and making sauces. The sauces were a cognac cream mushroom for the pork and reduced red wine sauce for the Pichana.

Sides were garlic asparagus and almond green beans roasted in oven at 400 and a tub of Hells Kitchen Garlic Mashed potatoes.

I’ll post dome sauce recipes when I get the time!

I threw in a picture of an actual Marine Birthday Ball at the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico VA at the end. My wife and I went last Friday as guests. It is an amazing museum I highly recommend visiting even if you aren’t a Marine!

Happy Birthday Marines! Have a great Veterans day!
