I apologize for making that statement. Throw downs are very well governed by SMF staff and volunteers today. I was referring to years ago when the vendors set the rules.

If you have concerns about rules please let me know. But basing your decision on past is a shame as I know you can put a good entry in and these are meant to be fun and community building events.
